I have multiple emails under the one acct, I want to set one of them as the default from address but there is no option to do so and will always default to the main one. Anyone know of a fix for this?

The documentation suggests this for the web version:

At the top of the page, select Settings .

  1. In the Options pane, under Mail > Sync email.
  2. Under Set default From address, choose an address from the drop-down list.
  3. Select Save.

But the option doenst exist and there is no option for the desktop version that I can find.

Many thanks for your prompt response.

I think I got you. After thorough tests and consults from my end, been advised that adding the email alias as the default from address in the outlook app is not yet feasible. For now you can only change manually as you pointed out. I do understand your need for this, and we do apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements. However, we will surely raise you concerns to our Product Team and hopefully this can be included in the future updates.

In the meantime, I do think that this can be a great addition to the app. If you don't mind, provide feedback on this feature request by creating a new post in the Feedback Portal at Outlook · Community (microsoft.com), Microsoft is committed to enhancing the customer experience by continually examining suggestions to include in the design and development of future product upgrades based on your suggestions.

Your kind understanding is highly appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time and have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf.

    Hello!

Good day and thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, please note if you have multiple accounts in Outlook, when you compose a new email message, Outlook picks the default account as the Fromaccount. If you have multiple accounts added, outlook will pick the from address from the account folder you're currently at when you start a new email.

If you want to use the default email account when clicking New Email regardless of what account or folder, you start from use the following steps.

    1. Select FileOptions > Mail.
    2. Under Send Messages, check the box Always use the default account when composing new messages.
    3. Select OK.

In case you have any further queries or can not see this option, please let me know the outlook version you are using.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf.

Thanks for responding but my email I want the from to default to is an alias, so I only have one email account in the account list / 1 inbox.

    for example:

    -******@outlook.com (my acct)

     -******@aliasemail.com (alias of my acct)

I can change the [from] to ******@aliasemail.com manually and send an email, but every new email it defaults back to ******@outlook.com

might not be possible but there might be a trick somewhere im missing.
