Cannot Send Emails using delegated account

I have delegate access to my boss's account - he enabled all the accesses for me.

However, i only see his inbox and nothing else.

I can't respond to any of his emails. An error shows up - Can't Create new message / or this message can't be sent because it no longer exists (using outlook web)

Does anybody know why this is occurring? Im open to responding to any questions so that this may be solved.

I am using a M1 Macbook Air.

I have delegate access to everything - but it is not showing up on my end:

  • Unable to respond to my boss's emails
  • Unable to leave drafts
  • Error prompts show - Can't Create new message / or this message can't be sent because it no longer exists (using outlook web) everytime i try to draft an email or directly respond.

Ideally, we'd like to have my delegate account directly respond to his emails - without "on behalf of" or any indicator.

    Dear GP Jose,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on the issue you are experiencing, it seems that there might be some issues with the delegate access that was granted to you.

    1. Could you please ask your boss to reassign the correct permissions to make sure that your boss has granted you the correct permissions to send emails on his behalf?
    2. Also, have you tried removing that account from your outlook and re-add to make sure that you have selected the correct email account when composing a new email. You can check this also by looking at the "From" field in the email composition window.
    3. Have you tried clearing the cache in Outlook for Mac by going to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Empty Cache.
    4. If the issue persists, try accessing your boss's email account using Outlook on the web. This will help you determine if the issue is with your Outlook for Mac or with the delegate access.

If none of these steps work, please let me so we explore more options, please understand that our initial response may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your cooperation.
