I need help with blocking certain emails from a shared mailbox.

I have a personal email and then I have the accounting invoices email. I need to block certain emails from going to the Accounting Invoices email without it affecting them contacting me through my personal email. How can I do this?

    Hello Darlene Merritt,

Thank you for posting this case in the Microsoft Community!

Based on your description: You need to block certain emails for your shared mailbox from one email without affecting your email. I would like to cooperate with you to work on this case. To clarify this case, are you using New Outlook for Windows? Currently, there is no way or settings to block certain emails for shared mailboxes on both New Outlook for Windows or Classic Outlook for Windows.

If you want to block certain emails for your shared mailbox from one email without affecting your main email account, it is suggested to sign in to Outlook Web with your main email account. Then you can access your shared mailbox to do settings in Outlook on the web as check this Microsoft article Open and use a shared mailbox in Outlook on the web. Here are the captured steps you may try:

After that, you can try the following workaround to block certain emails for your shared mailbox:

    1. When you access your shared mailbox in Outlook on the web, you can create a rule to block certain emails such as from specific email addresses, subjects, message bodies, and so on.

Steps: Outlook on the web>Settingslike gear icon**>Mail>Rules>Add a new rule**, You can create the rule with more conditions added to meet your requirement.

    1. You also can try to block certain emails via set as Blocked senders or domains in Junk E-mailsettings in Outlook on the web.

Block senders or mark email as junk in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web.

Steps: Outlook on the web>Settingslike gear icon**>Mail>Junk email**

By the way, you also can contact your Microsoft 365 admin to block certain emails to your shared mailbox from the backend side via Mail Flow Rules with the admin level.

Mail Flow Rules:Mail flow rules (transport rules) in Exchange Online

(Please Note: If you are not sure who the is admin, you may check this Microsoft article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support)

Hope the above workaround will be helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know, and I will keep assisting you.

Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely,
