Microsoft refuses to send recovery code to gmail and randomly sends unsolicited codes

There is clearly something wrong with the account recovery system and no one seems to care.

Hundreds of reports similar to this one can be found on this site, the problem is simple: you forget your hotmail password, you decide to recover it as you always did by sending a code to your gmail, the code doesn't arrive, weeks later you receive a barrage of seemingly unsolicited codes at different times that make it look like someone is trying to break into your account.

Yes, we are in 2024 and I know how to check the spam folder. Yes, I know how to type my gmail correctly. Yes, I already filled out the big boring account recovery form. How about leaving this aside and passing the problem on to someone who can solve it? or do we have to send a personal email to Bill Gates?
