Emails going into a sub folder

Hi, a few days ago my email address was hacked and everyone in my contacts received a message regarding AMAZON. I changed my password but now all my emails are going into the sub folder called Amazon (under my inbox), I can move them into my INBOX but how can I get my messages to go directly back into my INBOX? I was going to delete the folder ‘AMAZON’ but was worried what would happen to my emails.

Would be grateful if anyone could help me please.

Thank you so much Umar, everything now working, emails back in my inbox and have deleted AMAZON sub folder.

There is one more question I would like to ask if this is ok? When my Hotmail email account got hacked I was informed today that some people were getting the same message through iCloud as well, do you have an advice on what I should do?

    Thank you

    Hi Umar,

Thank you for detailed information. I assume I would have to do this from my laptop as I can’t see the 'gear icon' on my iPad? I did think it was something to do with the rule but didn’t know how to do it. Thank you

Hi Cherry, My name is Umar and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

It appears that the hacker who compromised your email account may have created a rule that automatically directs emails from specific senders or containing specific keywords to the "Amazon" subfolder. To rectify this issue, you'll need to eliminate the rule. Here's a step-by-step guide to doing so:

    a. Access your Outlook inbox.

    b. Click on the Gear icon situated in the top right corner and select See all Outlook settings.

    c. Under the Mail section, choose Rules.

    d. Identify the rule that redirects emails to the "Amazon" subfolder and click on it.

    e. Click the Delete button.

    f. Click the Save button.

Once you've eliminated the rule, all new emails should be delivered directly to your inbox. You can also choose to delete the "Amazon" subfolder if you wish. Deleting the subfolder won't affect your emails; they'll remain in your inbox.

If your emails are going into a subfolder called "Amazon" in your Outlook inbox, you can move them back to your inbox by following these steps:

    a. Open the Amazon Folder: Open the "Amazon" subfolder in your inbox.

    b. Select Emails: Select the emails that you want to move back to your inbox. You can select multiple emails by holding down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard while clicking on each email.

    c. Move Emails: Once you have selected the emails, right-click on them and select "Move" from the dropdown menu. Then, select "Inbox" from the list of options to move the emails back to your inbox

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
