Outlook email rules - "Have server reply using" - 2 different emails/templates

Hello,

I'm supposed to receive 2 automated emails when a given financial asset hits a price X and a price Y. This part is working well.
Once I received the first email telling me that the asset is worth a price of X, I want to send automatically a new email to other persons telling them that price is now X. (To clarify, this is not an auto forward of the initial email telling me that price is X, this is a totally new and differently formatted email)
This is currently working well by creating a rule in outlook and choosing "Have server reply using ...".

It's becoming more complicated when I want to to do the same when price is Y. Here again, as soon as I receive the email with the price being Y, I want to send automatically a new email to other persons telling them that price is now Y.

The issue is that this new email will actually tell the other persons that price is X.

To summarize, I want the server/my mailbox to be able to send automatically 2 different emails with different details.
Once again, if I receive an email telling me price is X, then I automatically send the X template/email, but if I receive an email telling me price is Y then I obviously send the Y template/email.

I hope the above is clear enough.

Thank you for your help.

Maxime

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for your help, the solution on my side was (like you mentioned above) to use "reply using a specific template" and not "have server reply using a specific message".
I managed to save several templates on my desktop, and I linked each of these templates to different rules.

I used the below link in order to do so.

    Best regards,

    Hi maxime.BH,

    Good day.

Hope you are doing well you for posting in Microsoft Community.

You can create a rule in Outlook that automatically sends a template email based on the price in the message. To do this, you need to use the Rules Wizard and create a rule from a blank template. Here are the basic steps:

Select Settings > Mail > Rules > New Rule.

In the Rules Wizard, select Apply rule on messages I receive and click Next.

In the next screen, select the condition with specific words in the subject or body and click the underlined words to specify the price you want to match. For example, you can enter X or Y as the words to look for. Click Next.

In the next screen, select the action reply using a specific template and click the underlined words to choose the template you want to use. You can create a new template or use an existing one. Click Next.

In the next screen, you can add any exceptions to the rule if you want. For example, you can exclude messages from certain senders or with certain words. Click Next.

In the final screen, give your rule a name and check the option to turn on this rule. You can also run the rule on the messages already in your inbox if you want. Click Finish.

Then you can repeat these steps to create another rule for the other price.

In addition, since you've mentioned that the second rule is not working. Could you please be kindly to capture a screenshot of your rule settings with us for further assistance.

    Best Regards
