Question about automatic replies

Hi,

I wanted to set up an automatic reply, but I know that it only sends the email to someone once. I saw somewhere that it resets every 24 hours so that if the same person send an email 24 hours later they will get the automatic reply even if they got it the day before. Is this true? I can't find the info here.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

When the Out of Office Assistant is enabled, only one reply is sent to each sender, even if you receive multiple messages from that person.

The automatic reply will reply as soon as the email is sent. if you sent the email on Monday you will receive the email on the same day.

So if someone sends me an email on Monday and then they send me another email on Thursday, they will only get the automatic reply on Monday and not Thursday?

I don't want to necessarily send it more than once during a 24-hour period, but I do want it to send again if, let's say, someone sends me an email Monday and then another one on Thursday. Would they get the automatic reply for the email they send on Thursday?

It's worth noting that the behaviour of automatic replies can vary depending on the email client or service you are using. Some email clients or services may have options to limit the frequency of automatic replies to prevent excessive messages being sent to the same recipient.

If you want to ensure that the same person receives the automatic reply even if they received it the day before, you may need to manually configure your automatic reply settings to allow multiple responses to the same recipient within a 24-hour period. However, keep in mind that sending multiple automatic replies to the same recipient within a short period of time may be considered spammy or annoying, so it's generally recommended to use automatic replies judiciously.
