File suddenly closed and deleted by word

Hello,
I was writing my thesis on Word (v16.5) for mac and i tried to save it as usual (i do it every 15-30min). But suddenly, a message error appeared and the file closed itself and was deleted from everywhere on my computer !! Please, can someone help me ?

    Thank you for your answer. The file was stored in the desktop of my computer.

    Have you set up iCloud, keep desktop folder syncing to iCloud?
    Please use Command + Shift + . (period) to unhide any hidden files in Finder, and find your paper again.

    Do you remember the content of the message error?
    If yes, please share with us for further analysis.

    In the event of an application or system crash, we may try to recover files in Office for Mac.
    Please switch to Finder, then click Go > Go To Folder (or press SHIFT + COMMAND + G) and enter following path.
    /Users/<username>/Library/Containers/com.Microsoft/Data/Library/Preferences/AutoRecovery
    Try to search it based on the time, and please remember to change the extension name from .tmp to .docx or .doc.

    If you have changed the path to save AutoRecover files, you may click Word menu > Preferences > File Locations under Personal Settings, then find the correct location to check whether there is a recovery file of your thesis.
