Hotmail password problem

Hotmail out of the blue said my sign in password was incorrect (it was not, I used it only an hour before and did not change it) so I was forced to use a sign in code sent to another email. Once I was in Hotmail, I attempted to change the password but it forces you to enter the current password to do that and it thinks the current password is wrong, so I can't actually change it. What do I do?
