Using Outlook for iOS in business environments for email and scheduling
Hello PeterMcDevitt,
I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
Registering for Microsoft Authenticator involves a few steps. Since you're having trouble accessing your Outlook profile, here's a general guide on how to set up Microsoft Authenticator:
Step 1: Download Microsoft Authenticator
- Go to the App Store on your iPhone.
- Search for "Microsoft Authenticator" and download the app.
Step 2: Add Your Outlook Account to Microsoft Authenticator
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the "+" icon to add a new account.
- Choose "Work or school account" depending on your Outlook account type.
- If prompted, scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen using your iPhone camera.
- Alternatively, you can manually enter your Outlook email address and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 3: Set Up Authentication
- After adding your account, you may be prompted to choose a verification method. Select the one that suits you best (notification, one-time code, or phone call).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Step 4: Logging In to Outlook with Microsoft Authenticator
- When prompted for a code on the Outlook login screen, open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the account you added.
- You will see a code; enter this code on the Outlook login screen.
- If you're not receiving the verification code, check your internet connection and ensure that notifications are enabled for the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- If you still can't receive the code, try using an alternative verification method (one-time code or phone call) during the setup process.
Best Regards, Shalom
