Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hi, Thanks for coming to the forum, my name is Femi. It is worth noting that this is a user community, and we are all users here, much like yourself. While we strive to assist and share insights, we are not Microsoft directly.
Task and To Do have different features and purposes. Tasks & To Do is a personal task manager that lets you create and organize your to-do lists, reminders, and notes. Planner is a team project manager that lets you create and assign tasks, track progress, and collaborate with others. To learn more;
You can sync your tasks between Tasks & To Do and Planner by using the Assigned to you smart list in Tasks & To Do. This list will show you all the tasks that are assigned to you in Planner, as well as in other apps like Outlook and Microsoft Teams. You can also mark the tasks as completed, add steps, or change the due date in Tasks & To Do, and the changes will be reflected in Planner23.
To enable the Assigned to you smart list, you need to do the following:
iOS or Android app: Select the menu icon, then select your name. To Do or Outlook Tasks on the web: In the upper right corner, choose Settings, then To Do Settings.
In Settings, scroll down to the Smart lists section and make sure that Assigned to you is turned On. Then, under Connected apps, for Planner, choose On
Once you do this, you will see the Assigned to you list in Tasks & To Do, and you can sync your tasks with Planner. You can also use Power Automate to create custom flows to sync your tasks in other ways, such as creating a task in Planner when you add a task in Tasks & To Do, or vice versa.
