Missing functionality in new Outlook version

I am currently using Outlook version 2308 (Build 16731.20316 Click-to-Run) and was recently asked if I wanted to try the "New Outlook" (1.2023.1108.200).

But I noticed - so far - several issues which do not make me very inclined to switch to this new version :

  • Several of the many e-mail rules I use could not be used in the new version, no idea why as these are fairly straightforward rules (move mails from a specific address, and with specific words in the subject, to a folder and mark them as read). I could re-write the rules in the new version, but that would be a very cumbersome process.
  • The "quick access" toolbar seems to have disappeared, and I see no option to re-instate that in the new version. I am using this to open a few "pre defined" e-mails, which I created as a template.

These are only the issues I encountered after briefly using the new version. So I am not sure yet if this is a complete list of all my concerns.

I do generally see that the new Outlook version is much more simplified, and much less "tweakable". So I am not very happy about what I have seen so far.

You can go back to classic Outlook for Windows by selecting the toggle in the new Outlook for Windows app. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/toggling-out-of-the-new-outlook-for-windows-preview-ec102b39-5727-418e-ae1f-a1805434640c
