I tried registering my Hotmail account given to me by UHRS which was successful. Then I tried logging in immediately and I was told the account was already a Microsoft account I tried the forgot password option and I provided every information requested of me but I'm still yet to receive a reply from Microsoft on the next step to take.

    Dear Faith Adesina,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I've noticed your post, and it seems like you're experiencing some issues with your Hotmail account.

Since I haven't used UHRS, I can't ascertain what you mean by being provided with a Hotmail account.

Do you mean that when you register for a UHRS account, a Hotmail account is created for you? If that's the case, I suggest you contact the UHRS customer service experts to ask them how to use this account.

If you've forgotten the password for a separate Hotmail account, then you'll need to use the account recovery form to recover your account.

The recovery form typically responds within 24-48 hours.

If you haven't received the latest request after 48 hours, you can do the following:

First of all, you can check if you have filled in the correct email address for rescue.

(Note that this is not the email address you need to change your password to, otherwise you will be stuck in an endless loop.

You can also switch to an alternate email address to check for spam.

Of course, if you are unable to receive the reply, it may be an unknown problem with the browser server, you can first try changing a major browser (Chromium/Edge/Foxfire) to try and recover your account.

If none of the above methods work for you:

Here are the specific steps required to contact an online agent:

    1. Type "Contact - Microsoft Support" and then type "Account Problems" in the search box
    2. Click on sign in at the bottom of the page and contact the support staff.
    3. Use your Microsoft account to sign in.
    4. Under "Products and services," select "Microsoft 365 and Office options."
    5. Under "Category," select "Manage Account Security."
    6. Click on "Chat with the support agent". Then, fill in the contact information where the online agent can contact you.

    Please note:

    • Online chat is not supported for corporate/educational accounts. If you do not have a personal account, please create a new @outlook.com account to use it.

    • Online chat services are provided during local working hours on business days.

    Wish you all the best!

    Best regards
