Using Outlook for iOS in business environments for email and scheduling
Hi Christopher Lewis_315,
Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.
I'm aware of the error message in your Outlook that the application requires Gmail and G Suite accounts to enable All Mail, Drafts, Sent Messages, Spam, and Junk Folders via IMAP, but the settings dialogue box that is displayed doesn't seem to be available, I'll do my best to help you out!
The error message you're encountering indicates that certain Gmail and G Suite folders need to be enabled for IMAP access in order for the Outlook app on your iPhone to function properly. Here’s how to resolve this issue:
Steps to Enable IMAP Folders in Gmail:
Even if IMAP is enabled by default, in some cases third-party services can interfere with this setting. If both of these methods fail, IMAP is most likely disabled in your Gmail account; here's how to enable it:
- Log into Your Gmail Account:
- Open a web browser and go to Gmail.
- Sign in with your Gmail.
- Access Settings:
- Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP Tab:
If you continue to experience issues, try removing and re-adding your Gmail account in the Outlook app.

But I don't see the ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ option in the image you provided, are you doing this on the web side? If this option is not available on the web, you need to contact gmail support to make sure that IMAP is enabled in the Gmail settings under the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. Then make sure that Show in IMAP is checked for the following folders: All Messages, Drafts, Sent Messages, Spam, and if any of these are set to ‘Hidden’, click the appropriate Show link to enable them.
Thank you for your patience and support.
I wish you all the best
