    Dear Vicki Wild

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community

Based on your description, I understand that you are unable to copy the link to your email. If my understanding is wrong, please point it out.

Are you able to copy the link into your other Office programmes, such as Word, and is it normal with blue underlining?

If it can be copied as a link in word, then it may be because you have enabled plain text mode in Classic Outlook.

Please click ‘New Message’ in the upper left corner of Classic Outlook and find ‘Format Text’ in the new message editing interface, and change the display form to ‘As a HTML’.

If you can't paste the link in word, please don't paste your link in plain text, it will cause your link to be invalid, please use the shortcut key of [crtl+v] to paste directly. (The shortcut for pasting a link in plain text is [ctrl+shift+v])

This reply may not directly address your issue, so feel free to let me know how it goes any time by repling below.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I have tried the Format Text and then as a HTML (which was already highlighted) and it still does not paste as a link, just as plain text.

It does work on a Word doc however, just not on outlook.

    Appreciate your assistance.

If you paste a URL, such as https://answers.microsoft.com, it should be converted into a hyperlink as you press the SpaceBar, with the insertion point at the end of the inserted URL.

In Outlook, click File > Options > Mail > Editor Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat As You Type and verify that there is a check mark next to "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks."
