Not using a proxy server is recommended. According to the official document, having a proxy can cause Teams performance-related problems, such as latency, packet loss.
Question 2. If it doesn't , what all Teams traffic will be sent over proxy and what will not be sent?
If you have to use a proxy server, the following tips are strongly recommended by Microsoft:
