Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Dear Ann,
Good day!
Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!
Based on your description regarding "how do I check the mx record configuration in outlook?". Kindly note that MX record configuration is not something that can be checked in Outlook directly. MX records are part of the DNS (Domain Name System) configuration for your email domain.
To check the MX record configuration for your email domain, you can use a DNS lookup tool such as MX Toolbox (MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox) or DNS Checker. Simply enter your domain name and the tool will display the MX records associated with your domain.
If you are experiencing issues with sending or receiving emails in Outlook, would you mind offering me below information:
- Would you mind to providing the screenshot which shows your TXT records? would like to suggest you to kindly go to Domain set up page from your Microsoft Admin center and check TXT records correctly updated and have no issue. To do so, kindly go Microsoft 365 admin center--> Admin center --> Settings --> Domain --> select your affected domain and check DNS records. (If you are not Admin, kindly contact your organization Admin to perform this for you)
- Please provide to us sample header of the affected email, Message trace report for the same email via private message for privacy and further analysis. For message trace report, admin permission are required, so if you don’t have Microsoft365 global admin rights, kindly contact your admin to run the message trace report. For this, please see Message trace in the new EAC in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn. For this, need to add affected sender email id, recipient email id, select date range and run the report. Once report generated, kindly capture it screenshot, now open one of the trace which status shows as Failed, capture entire page screenshot, expand all logs and collect screenshot. Share all these information to us, so we can check the details.
Looking forward to your response!
