AIP client not working - Add-in crashes Word

While troubleshooting with the Microsoft 365 support team, we came to the conclusion that the AIP add-in is causing the Word application to crash.
On that moment we see in event viewer this error message: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.9151 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (00007FFE3FAF6D4E) (80131506)
The steps we have tried:
- Installing .NET runtime => It was already the latest
- Disabling the add-in => Word works
- Uninstalling AIP => Word works
- Installing AIP => Word crashes
- Installing the newer preview version => Word crashes
- Installing with the .msi => Word crashes
- Reverting an Windows update => no result = not related
- Another device => no issues

Excel didn't crash in the past, but now it does as well.
I'm having the same issue. I have to disable AIP to stop Word from crashing. Mine happens with multiple screens only - when I move the active window from one screen to the next, it crashes. Also, it loads 10X faster with the AIP com add-in disabled.
