How to remove verification code to access my hotmail address

Hi there,

There's an old e-mail linked to my hotmail to verify access to it and I would like to remove it because it's annoying to be signing in multiple times in multiple accounts to just sign in.

The problem is that when I try to remove it on the advanced security section it says this message: "Could not remove email. Before you can remove xxx@****, you'll need to add another phone number or an alternate email address, or verify an existing one. If you ever lose access to your account, this information will help you regain access."

I don't want to keep having other accounts or mobile phone numbers linked to it, it's really annoying. Can someone help me, please?

    Dear user_191,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the Community.

I understand that you do not want to use the security information you previously added to verify your account, as it makes login cumbersome. But you encountered a problem deleting this information, and I am more than willing to help you, you can refer to the following information:

    Reason:

Based on your error situation, your account should have only added this one security information, so you cannot delete it directly. The need to add a new security information is to protect your account from being locked due to inability to verify.

    Solution:

If you do not want to verify security information every time. You can refer to the following methods:

Tip: If you enable two factor authentication, you will always need two forms of identification. You can turn it off so that you don't have to use two authentication methods every time you log in, but this will lower the security of your account. Therefore, you can use Microsoft Authenticator, open password free login. As the only way to sign in - just tap an approval on your phone to sign in. This is called going passwordless.

Hope this help you. If there is any deviation in my understanding, please forgive me and provide me with more details. I am more than happy to continue to help you.
