Hiya,
Every time there is a sync between SCCM SUP and WSUS the wsyncmgr.log file fills with a sea of red with this error:.
Generic exception : ImportUpdateFromCatalogSite failed. Arg = f31e2eb3-1b5a-4291-8865-e04517d44761. Error =The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.
Sometimes it completes the sync and sometimes it does not complete and I get an alert:
Alert: Synchronization failure alert for software update point: SMS Site Server (XYZ)
Alert type: Software update synchronization failure
Severity: Critical
Active time (UTC): 02/07/2021 19:04
Condition: Generate an alert if software updates synchronization fails for the Software Update Point role at the SCCM 2012 Madrid (XYZ) site.

I have manually run the clean up option in WSUS many times and I also have the SUP Components > WSUS Maintenance options selected:
Note that this was a W2K12 server on which we did a W2K16 in-place upgrade... just in case it's a TLS issue...

I cannot say how disappointing was to read your reply.
Further search got me to this article troubleshoot-wsus-import-sync-issues where my issue is described.
However the solution suggested was this troubleshoot-wsus-import-sync-issues but I cannot understand what I need to do since my OS is W2K16?
This was an in-place upgrade from W2K12 so do to configure .NET Framework to use TLS 1.2 by using registry keys? I
If so which keys are required since the doc becomes very confusing with extra links out?
I hope someone at MSFT can be kind enough to look into this for me.
