Excel open Blank instance of exel.

Question

Hi,
One excel blank window open while we open file from Local PC drive or from file server or using link of file server file in outlook.
but if we open SharePoint file directly or from link in outlook mail, blank excel window not come.
we are using macro, so we put one excel macro file in XLSTART folder in Program files\Office\XLSTART folder and hide the file . which run every time as we start excel.

so kindly guide how to avoid blank excel window while we open local PC drive excel file or from File server opened excel file

Could you please share us which version of Office are you using now?

Will the local workbooks opended as blank if you open them in Excel app?
I suggest you temporarily move the macro file and other startup items from Startup folder (Such as Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\XLStart , C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART ) and disable Excel COM add-ins to check this issue.

Please also go to File > Options > Advanced, under General part, ensure "Ignore Other Applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" is unticked.

hi,
but macro start with excel is my requirement. Also i check this issue not come in office 2010.

this issue is resolve if i remove my macro file from XLSTART folder but i need macro file.

any other solution available.

I will suggest following these steps:

1. Open the MS Excel program on your system (Not the Excel file). Double click on the MS Excel Icon.
2. Click o File, go to Options
3. Under Options, you will have to go to Advanced.
4. Go to the General section
5. Uncheck "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)"
6. Click on OK and close the Excel
