How do you add a combined view of tasks and calendar on the to do bar without switching back and forth between tabs? In the old Outlook, I can see the tasks at the top of my Outlook and the monthly calendar and a scroll bar is provided on the right. I would also like to see the monthly calendar, not week.

    Dear Lindsay,

I hope you have a good day. Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.

Thank you for your question regarding the ability to view both Tasks and a monthly Calendar simultaneously in the To-Do Bar in the new Outlook for Windows. Here is some information to help you better understand the differences between the New Outlook and the Classic Outlook for Windows.

    • About the Classic Outlook:

    > You could customize the To-Do Bar to show: A monthly calendar, scrollable task list, favorite contacts

    • About the New Outlook:

    > This functionality has changed. The To-Do Bar as it existed in classic Outlook is not currently available in the same form. Instead, Microsoft has integrated tasks into the My Day pane and encourages the use of the Microsoft To Do app for task management.

    > Some Limitations in the New Outlook:

    • You cannot pin both a full monthly calendar and tasks side-by-side in the same pane.
    • The To-Do Bar with customizable sections (Calendar, Tasks, People) is only available in classic Outlook

If you’d like to learn more about the differences between the new Outlook and classic Outlook, you can refer to the link below for additional details:

I would like to offer a few work-around steps that may help improve your experience in the New Outlook:

    1. Use the “My Day” Pane:
    • Click the My Day icon (calendar with a checkmark) in the top-right corner.
    • Switch between Agenda and Tasks views.
    • This does not show a full monthly calendar but allows quick access to tasks and upcoming events.
    1. Use Split View:
    • Open Calendar in a new window.
    • Arrange your windows side-by-side to simulate a combined view.
    1. Switch to Classic Outlook (if needed):
    • If this feature is critical to your workflow, you may consider switching back to classic Outlook, where the To-Do Bar is still supported.

I understand these are workarounds and not a perfect solution. I hope these solutions can help you meet your work-related needs and contribute to a smoother, more efficient workflow. Additionally, I hope the information provided above gives you a clearer understanding of the New Outlook and Classic Outlook.
