According to the MS CVE site (https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-34527), I am trying to download the patch for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5004951) but when I try to install that, I get the error: "The windows modules installer must be updated before you can install this package. Please update the Windows Modules Installer on your computer, then retry Setup." The link takes me to (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/error-message-when-you-install-a-msu-update-package-on-a-computer-that-is-running-windows-the-windows-modules-installer-must-be-updated-before-you-can-install-this-package-fe8d5770-df2e-f020-b47c-6605b0de15ba) with a link to download (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?familyid=1de747cb-dee1-4826-a8ff-6491d2445f00) but I get a 404 error when trying that link.

Please help - I need to download the Windows Module Installer in order to download the patch for Print Nightmare to protect my server.

    @Ryan Matthews
    Hi,

    You can only get this update after purchasing the ESU.
    If you are installing this update on a device that is running an edition that is not supported for ESU.
    This behavior is expected.
    Windows Server 2008 R2 have reached the end of mainstream support and are now in extended support.

    You could refer to the known issues in this update here:

    Info about ESU:

    Hope above information can help you.

    I'd check that the prerequisites listed here have been installed.

    Hi @Jenny Feng , can you direct me on how to purchase an ESU? I am the technical contact for a small business (<5 people) so we don't have a MS rep or any type of account manager. I'd be happy to purchase an ESU but all of the FAQs on the pages you've linked/what I could Google have told me the same thing - speak with your account rep! :)
