I am trying to add a colleagues calendar, but it tells me that "it already exists" but doesn't show up to where I can even see their name where all my other calendars are. Their name doesnt even show so it looks like it doesnt exist, but the system keeps telling me it does.

I have already tried clearing my cache. Restarting, updating, everything. Nothing is working.

For me, a shared team/group calendar did not re-appear after the transition to the new Outlook version.

First, I tried to add back specific individuals, and received the "calendar already exists" error.

So, I followed the steps above to log into Outlook on the web.

In the web version, I found and then removed the offending (no longer visible on desktop) team calendar that the individual belonged to. Finally, I was able to add their calendar back to Outlook, without the "already exists" error message.

Hello Toni Mason, Good morning! Thank you for your posting to the Microsoft community. We are happy to assist you.

First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to your work. To troubleshoot the issue, you are facing, effectively kindly provide the following information:

    1. Are you using a Microsoft 365 business account(@xxx.onmicrosoft.com/@domain.com)? Or using a personal account type such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, and so on? Or using another third-party POP/IMAP account?
    2. How are you adding the calendar and are you in the same organization with this colleague?
    3. What version of Outlook do you have? What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support
    4. Kindly share a screenshot of the issue you are facing.

In the meantime, kindly try the steps below to resolve the issue you are facing.

Sign in to Outlook on the web(https://outlook.office.com/) and try to add the calendar from there and check if it syncs to your calendar.

    1. In the calendar, go to the toolbar and select Add calendar > From directory.
    2. In the From directory box, type the name of the calendar you want to add. Outlook on the web will automatically find matching entries from the organization's directory.
    3. Choose the calendar you want to add, then select Open.

If the web works well but the issue persists in new Outlook, Uninstall and reinstall the new Outlook for Windows.

    To uninstall new Outlook:

    1. From the Startmenu, select new Outlook for Windows.
    2. Select the arrow to expand the list option in Start.
    3. Select Uninstallto begin the uninstall process.

    To reinstall new Outlook:

    1. Open classic Outlook for Windows.
    2. In the top corner, you'll see a toggle to Try the new Outlook  New Outlook for Windows toggle.
    3. Select this toggle to download the new app and you will switch to the new Outlook for Windows.

Please note that our initial response may not resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

We are waiting for your response. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely,Simbarashe | Community Moderator
