Email storage

My wife and I have always shared one email address on our devices and kept a copy in a pst on our PC. Now we have been forced to the cloud with 365 which limits the storage to only 5gb (the dumb way attachments are stored and handled... and you cannot remove an attachment and keep the email body).

We just need more storage and do not want to mess with multiple accounts and usernames and emails and sharing, etc. We just want one account, one outlook.com email, and one onedrive... we just need more storage. Why does Microsoft want to make things so complicated?

We want a nice simple plan that provides storage without spending hours jumping through hoops and wasting time and $$.

I have already spent hours trying to get info on the convoluted family plan subscription and how we would set it up to give us what we want.

    Hello M J-mj,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you need more storage space.

In fact, Microsoft offers a Microsoft 365 Basic plan, which was formerly known as the OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan, specifically for storage needs. The Microsoft 365 Basic plan does not include the desktop Office applications provided by the Personal and Family plans.

For some common questions about the Microsoft 365 Basic plan, you can refer to this support article. Frequently asked questions about Microsoft 365 Basic - Microsoft Support

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. Thank you.

    Best Regards,
