This appears to have worked, thanks!
Outlook app not working - opening edge tab instead
As of this weekend, my Outlook desktop app is no longer working. When I try to open Outlook, it automatically opens a tab in my Edge browser instead and makes me log in. Meanwhile, the Outlook app is stuck on the screen showing it's trying to open. I'm using a Windows 11 laptop that is up to date. I used the "repair" option in settings for the app and it did nothing to help. Before I reset the app, I wanted to see if there is anything else I should know or do.

2025-02-25T06:28:01+00:00 Hello asmadking,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
I understand the issue you mentioned about the new Outlook not opening and redirecting you to a webpage to log in. Is this webpage Outlook.com?
My initial suggestion is to uninstall Outlook and then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. If that doesn't work, you can try resetting it.

I want to confirm if you are opening the Outlook (new) app that can be found in the Search bar. I also have another suggestion for you to try.
After closing the app, go to the following path:
c:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Olkand rename the 'Olk' folder to something else. Then restart Outlook (new) to see if it returns to normal.I look forward to your further feedback.
