I have an AD in 2008 R2 server and user data like Desktop, Documents ... are saving in DFS 2008 R2 server. Now I want to migrate both AD and DFS servers to 2016. So, my question is which one I need to migrate first AD or DFS and what problems will I face in the process of migration. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Welcome to our new Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Based on my understanding ,your DFS-N server and DC are not on the same server, there won't be any differences for changing which firstly.

But before any change ,i would recommend you make sure that everything works well for the current situation and do a backup for both the servers.

For the DC migration , promote the new one firstly, after the replication completment, run DCDIAG and Repamin on the new DC .If all is good, transfer the FSMO. For your reference:
