WDS - Changing the default Remote Installation Folder

2020-07-15T06:59:37.03+00:00

Hi All -

I have a production W2K8 Server running WDS and someone kept all the defaults when they installed the product.

So my question is, what's the easiest way to change the default remote installation path from C:\RemoteInstall to my san drive at F:\RemoteInstall?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to our new Microsoft Q&A Platform.

You can try the commands below:

    wdsutil /Uninitialize-Server

    wdsutil /Initialize-Server /REMINST:"F:\RemoteInstall"

Or you can remove your original WDS Server, re-add and configure a WDS Server in the Windows Deployment Services console. When configuring a new WDS Server, you can point a location to save the remote installation folder. By default, it is C:\RemoteInstall.
