Title: Account Blocked - Need Help Understanding Skype ToS Violation & Data Recovery Options

Hi Microsoft Community,

Looking for some guidance on my blocked Microsoft account situation. Really hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Current Situation:

* Account blocked for supposed Skype Terms of Service violations

* No idea what violations they're referring to

* Haven't really used Skype much lately (just occasional calls to UAE, UK, Ireland)

* Only Skype activity was reporting spam/scam chat requests I kept getting added to

Security Note:

* Noticed lots of failed login attempts worldwide on Dec 23rd

* Had 2FA enabled with Microsoft Authenticator

* Pretty sure no one got in, but now worried this might be related

What I Need Help With:

  1. Has anyone dealt with similar blocks? How did you resolve it?
  2. If I can't get the account back, what's the best way to recover my OneDrive files?
  3. Any specific contact path I should follow with Microsoft Support?

Really need to either get my account back or at least access my OneDrive data before canceling my Microsoft 365 subscription. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

***moved from Microsoft 365 and Office / OneDrive / For home / Windows***

    Dear Luke O'Flynn1

    Thanks for your reply

For your situation, I can understand that you want to recover your account as soon as possible, I also know that the account contains your onedrive file, which is very important for you.

My suggestion is that you can make an account complaint, you can click on the link below to make an account complaint to try to see if you can recover your account, I hope you can recover your account, good luck.

But again no success, I now just get an immeidate response when completing the form.. First time It took over a week to review.

Belolw is the reply I keep recieving.

Is there any other solution, at this point I just wish to recover my onedrive files as some of these are the only copies I have.

Also What times do you believe the Chat Widget may work best. It is noted somewhere that it's between certain hours (Business Hours) but no Time Zone to clarify

Dear Luke O'Flynn Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the community. *1, The account recovery form just came back 3 time with "Discission upheld"*The filling out of the form can be simply classified into three stagesThe information is very insufficient, between 0 and 50% of you will receive an email stating that your information is insufficient and cannot be restored. The information is not exhaustive. You may have provided some information between 50 and 80, but if it is not complete, the robot cannot help you recover your accountThe information provided is comprehensive, ranging from 80 to 100. The information you provided is very valuable and can prove your identity. You can restore your account via email. So, what information is valuable? In accordance with Microsoft's rule that if you have previously purchased a Microsoft product such as the XGP, m365, you can find this order by bank card and fill out the form with this information, which will give you a higher chance of recovering your account! Can you raise a ticket from your end for some one to contact me via phone. Microsoft does not have telephone customer service, and I do not know any Microsoft customer service colleagues. I am unable to assist you in seeking telephone support. I suggest that you change your network environment while using a personal account, or try contacting them at another time.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  Best regardsKokutou-MSFT |Microsoft Community Technical Support Specialist

    Kokuto,

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunetly I'm having issues with both your solutions.

1, The account recovery form just came back 3 time with "Discission upheld"

    1. The Chat Widget fails to load I have tried to load it on different browsers, Computers and even Phone and all result in a blank page.

Can you raise a ticket from your end for some one to contact me via phone.

    Warm Regards

    Luke

Dear Luke O'Flynn  Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.Based on your description, I know you want to unlock your accountAccount blocked for supposed Skype Terms of Service violations . Noticed lots of failed login attempts worldwide on Dec 23rdBased on your description, your account name should have been leaked. The server detected a hacker attack and temporarily locked your account. Typically, this temporary lockout is in the neighborhood of 7 days. You can try unlocking your account through the link belowMicrosoft-Services Account Reset If I can't get the account back, what's the best way to recover my OneDrive files?

You can contact Microsoft online support, who like me are real people and not bots.  Contact - Microsoft Support  Note: You can only use a personal MSA to register, and the company account cannot display the correct content. If the account can't be connected, you can use another account or create a new account to run;Image Image

Enter your details of the problem e.g. account recovery.

Then tap Contact Support in the bottom left corner.
