How do I run ALL the rules in Microsoft Web Mail all at once?

There is a post from November 2023 which list outdated instructions to click on the "triangle" to select multiple rules at once. Well Today, April 3, 2025 that is no longer available or at least not for me. How can I run all rules as I do not have a triangle to click on to select.

My team manages eight inboxes, and we receive approximately 350-400 emails per day in total. We must set up rules online, for each inbox because these are shared amongst many people. We cannot run one rule at a time or each inbox.

I am now experiencing some rules not running and must delete the existing rule and recreate. I do like having access to MSO on line, but it looses functionality my old school brain had grown accustom to.

    Hi!

I have the same problem with both Outlook for Mac and Outlook Web.

I have a business account running on Exchange server.

The "Run rule now" is grey and non clickable.

Rules are not working on all incoming mails.

    Hi Jessica Steele (HxSG),

    Thank you for the reply,

If you are using https://outlook.office.com to access the outlook on the web you must me using Microsoft 365. Usual if outlook rules are created and enabled in the outlook applications, the rule applies on new emails automatically. If new emails are received and it meet condition for an outlook rule inbox rule the rule will apply on the emails automatically without having to manually run the run on email.

to run the outlook rule on emails that were received before the rule were created you will have to manually run the rule on all emails by clicking Run rule now

In Microsoft 365 to be able to manually run all outlook rule (inbox rules) at once you will have to use the classic outlook for windows.

    In classic outlook for windows

    • Click on File tab**>> Manage Rules & Alerts**
    • Click Run Rules Now...
    • Select the rules to be Run in the new popup window
    • Click Run Now

In Microsoft Web Mail web (outlook on the web) there is not to run multiple rules at once, we can run each individual rule one by one.

    • Click on Settings>>Email>>Rules>>
    • On each rule click option button (...)
    • Click Run rule now

    Hello,

This is a business account, and we are accessing outlook.office.com. I am not 100% certain but I think MSO Exchange Server.

    Dear Jessica Steele (HxSG),

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

After reading, I have a general idea of your problem. You wonder how to run ALL the rules in Microsoft Web Mail all at once.

From your description, your account seems to be a business account, because the rules are shared amongst members of your organization.

But the section you selected provides help for personal/family users, so I need to confirm with you again.

Would you mind please tell me is your account a personal account or business account?

Is your business email hosted on Microsoft Exchange server or has a Microsoft 365 subscription for business?

An important reference for distinction is: If you use this account to log in to Outlook web, which website do you use? "outlook.live.com" or "outlook.office.com"?

Looking forward to your timely response, I will continue to follow up on your question here.

    Best Wishes,
