Hi Asjal,
Good day.
Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.
After deeper research we have found that this feature is not avilable in New Outlook Open file links directly in Microsoft 365 desktop apps from Teams and classic Outlook , as a workaround:
- you can only preview the links as :
- Open Outlook and go to the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner.
- Select View all Outlook settings at the bottom.
- Navigate to Mail > Compose and reply.
- Scroll down to the Link Previewsection.
- Here, you can choose to open links in the desktop app instead of the browser.
- Alternative work around:
- Please press WIN-R and type %userprofile%\appdata\local\microsoft\olk and press Enter.
- Then an explorer windows opens. Check if you can see an Attachments folder. If not create one and problem might be solved for you.
If the issue still present, , we sincerely recommend you post your valuable suggestion as an idea on our in-app New Outlook feedback site. To provide feedback, go to Help> Feedback. You can refer to Contact support and provide feedback within the new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support .
