Hello

I have been tasked with evaluating Server 2019 in our environment (we are currently a 2012R2 shop).

My first task was to download the evaluation ISO (finally available again !) and tried it in our lab setup on one of the existing servers.

Well didn't get far... apparently, you can not upgrade a server 2012 to 2019. Is that a <g class="gr_ gr_41 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Style multiReplace" data-gr-id="41" id="41">fact ?</g>

Can't seem to find a clear reference about this. If it is indeed the case this will clearly make things much more complex.

Any pointer /reference most welcome.

Windows Server 2012 R2 can in-place upgrade to Windows Server 2019. There is a step-by-steps guide for you.

Though it is possible to perform an in-place upgrade, the recommended procedure is to perform a clean installation of the operating system and applications.
