Local Mapped Drives

Hi All,

every time I log into a server remotely using my Admin account I seem to get quite a few drive mappings which signify my local machine.

I can't see why this is happening or seem to shake it off.

Can someone offer any advice?

Regards.

    Hi,

    Welcome to our Q&A platform.

My understanding is after you login the server with Admin account remotely, then you will find that the new mapped drive was created in the server locally. Please correct me if any misunderstanding.

I would suggest you check is there any GPO related to mapped drive was configured which might be the reason of this issue.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

    Hi SunnyQi,

Yes you are correct in stating that when I RDP to a server it not only mapps the servers mapping through GPO it also mapps drivers relating to my local laptop.

If I right click the drives I don't see the security options.

    Rgs.

    Hello @czql5v .

Just remove the tick against the Drives item in the Remote Desktop Connection set-up.

    Hi @czql5v ,

    Thanks for your update.

The GPO related to map drive is a user-based policy. The mapped drives you notice so far are all applied to this user. When you log in on any other devices with this user, you will also see these mapped drives. This is a normal phenomenon.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny
