Gmail calendar added to Outlook app, but no longer to Outlook 365 web version

Hi All,

I had added my Gmail calendar to Outlook 365 web version, via Settings, Calendar, Accounts, Select you personal account, logged in to gmail, added all the privileges and it worked.

Then I wanted to revoke some of the apps privileges in google, because I did not see a reason why (for example) Google Drive access would be needed. I could only revoke all privileges at once in Google and so I did. Then I wanted to add the calendar again and it fails every time I try. When I grant the privileges in the pop-up window in Google, that window shows the Outlook app when done, the privileges are not granted and original Outlook window shows a error message: We can't add your personal account right now. Please try again later. I have been trying for days without success.

Subsequently I have added the Gmail account to the Outlook app on Mac (fat client). That works (only when I grant all privileges), but now I still can't see my Gmail calendar in the (preferred) Outlook 365 web version. On the Google side the privileges look the same as they did when the calendar was successfully added to Outlook 365 web version.

I strongly prefer the Outlook 365 web version and I would like so see my personal calendars there.

Thanks,

Robert

    Dear Robert Majoor,

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm glad to hear your issue is resolved.

But I'm curious, what method did you use to resolve it?

If it fixed itself, it sounds like a sync delay with the server.

Looking forward to your early reply :)

Update: eventually all meetings appeared using iCal, but this took ore than 12 hours.

    Hi Stan,

    Thanks for your reply.

Adding the Google calendar with iCal does not work properly. Meetings are shown, but some meetings are missing. This seems to be a Outlook issue, because if I add the same URL to the Mac calendar app, all meetings are shown. (I checked the filter option > all boxes are checked).

Adding Gmail calendar to the Outlook 365 web version (via Settings, Calendar, Accounts) does still not work, also not in the browser's privacy mode or with a different browser.

To avoid having to delete cache and other browsing data I also downloaded and installed MS Edge and I did not import data from other browsers. This also does not work.

When going to the process Google notifies me that the permissions are granted, but Outlook web fails to use them.

In the Outlook Mac app (fat client) the Google account is still fully integrated: mail, all calendars, contacts.

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Dear Robert Majoor,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

After reading, I have a general idea of your problem.

At first you granted access, but after you revoked all the permissions at once and tried to regrant them, you could no longer add Google Calendar in outlook. Correct me if I'm misunderstanding.

Did you follow the instructions in this support article to subscribe to. iCal calendars from Google? See your Google Calendar in Outlook - Microsoft Support

This sounds like the wrong web cache data is causing this, especially when you say that outlook didn't correctly recognize that you granted permissions. Have you tried using your browser's privacy mode, or clearing cookies to fix the problem?

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

My first reply doesn't always solve your problem, but your timely feedback will help us better locate your problem.

Looking forward to your timely response, I will continue to follow up on your question here.
