Hi

I’m trying to connect my Outlook Calendar to Slack. However, I’m currently unable to authorize the integration — it appears the app might be restricted in Azure Active Directory.

Could you please check if the “Outlook Calendar for Slack” app is allowed in Enterprise Applications within Azure AD, and if needed:

  • Enable user sign-in to the app
  • Grant admin consent for the required permissions
  • Confirm users are allowed to connect third-party applications

Let me know if you need any details from my side. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Joakim Strøm

    Hi Ian I was hoping you could forward my msg;

"I am the founder of pocketzim.com. A “pilot emergency training tool” firstly. But due to its “life skills” basis, it is very scalable. Today the company has a virtual and loosely connected office due its start-up mode. I am using a MBP, the others a combo of IPADs and PCs. As the CEO I am responsible for providing an affordable and sensible business platform.

I was originally thinking of doing our communication-creative work-planning/schedule-visualization via Outlook+Slack. But too little effect (one day at a time view only) and cumbersome interphase (in Slack) is forcing me to rethink. Maybe a Teams/Outlook based communication/schedule tool is better (also future-vice) It seems the Teams app does not provide the outlook integration I am looking for. I am thus considering using web-outlook with a Teams “tab” for communication for my team. Hopefully making communication and scheduling effective.

    1. What do you think?

Also, the Pocketzim app will be in need of protection during construction, launch and ever after. Both vital info physically and the flexibility of the cloud to avoid scaling pains. The idea is to transgress from “today” to “future” in accordance with capitalization. Here’s our platform roadmap:

The “future” was made with the help of ChatGBT and to the best of my abilities. But,

    1. Is my understanding correct?

    And
    3) Please give me your opinion on best way forward for us!

    Thanks for taking the time
    Regards Joakim

    Hi Joakim,

I truly appreciate for your dedicated information you provided.

That is a great job outlining your goals and thinking critically about the tools and structure that will support your team and product. It’s clear you’re approaching this with both vision and practicality, that’s understandable.

That said, based on the details of your platform roadmap and the technical depth involved in integrating communication, scheduling, and future AI/data services, I can only offer guidance from a general and product-usage perspective.

For more detailed or backend-specific questions, especially those involving architecture, security, or advanced integration. I highly recommend creating a support ticket in admin center. This will connect you with our senior back-end engineering team, who have the in-depth technical expertise to provide tailored advice and solutions.

I hope you understand the limitations of what I can provide here, and I truly appreciate your thoughtful approach and trust in the Microsoft products.

    Best regards,

    Hi Joakim,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support.

Based on your sharing, the ability to authorize the Outlook Calendar for Slack integration depends on how your organization’s Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is configured. As a forum moderator, I don’t have access to your organization’s tenant settings, so I’m unable to check or modify these permissions for you. Please contact your IT administrator and ask them to:

    1. Check Enterprise Applications
      • Go to Azure Portal > Enterprise Applications
      • Search for “Outlook Calendar for Slack”
      • If blocked, click “Unblock” or “Enable”.
    2. Enable user sign-in for the app
      • Under Properties, ensure “Enabled for users to sign in” is set to Yes.
    3. Grant admin consent for all required permissions.
    4. Verify app availability settings in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under Settings > Integrated Apps to ensure users are allowed to connect third-party apps like Slack.

I'm so sorry for not fully solve your issue at the initial response, but I hope you understand the nature of your issue.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Best regards,
