Unable to create Microsoft Account - Cannot use a work or personal account

I've had my account set up with a Microsoft account for quite some time.

I host my domain on GSuite, including email and all other services.

I've got my own email address set up as a Microsoft account, and I use it for all MS services (Xbox, Windows, etc)

I tried to set up my wife's email address, on the same domain as mine, with a Microsoft account, so that she can sign into her new Windows 10 laptop.

When I try to set her up with a Microsoft account, I get an error stating that a work or school account already exists on her account. When she tries to sign in as this account, she gets an error that the user does not exist.

I'm stuck here now. I know I've used Azure AD for my domain, but I also know that I've never set up her account with any services, and when I check Azure AD, there are no user accounts with her name or email associated. I also don't have my domain associated with Azure AD anymore.

Any ideas? How can I get her email address set up as a Microsoft account?

If an account access problem then also try resetting via the account recovery form
