Dear William,
Nice to meet you!
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your calendar experience. We're happy to assist.
We understand how seeing outdated colleague information, such as your former manager’s availability, in the “People you work with” section of your Outlook calendar can be distracting, especially after your recent rehire. This issue often occurs when legacy relationship data or cached connections remain associated with your account.
At present, there isn’t a direct user-facing option to manually remove individuals from the “People you work with” display in Microsoft Places. However, we recommend trying the following steps, which may help refresh or clear old relationship data:
1. Update Your Microsoft Places Profile Please visit https://places.microsoft.com and ensure the following:
- Your office location is current
- Your manager and team details are accurate
- Save your changes and sign out/sign back into Outlook
These updates help Microsoft 365 align with your present organizational context.
2. Review Your Reporting Structure with IT We recommend reaching out to your IT department or administrator to:
- Check your Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) profile
- Confirm your manager and department fields are up to date
- Remove any old group memberships that may be tied to your previous role
These backend updates often help sync Microsoft 365 features, including who appears in your “People you work with” list.
Please let us know if you need further clarification or assistance. We appreciate your patience and look forward to assisting you further.
We hope you have a great day!
Warm Regards,
Chris-DKN - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
