Filling an application form

I am trying to fill an application but when I try to fill in a blank it moves and completely changes the format of the page. I am working in microsoft office 2007.  The document says that it is in compatibility mode.

Either fill it in as is, without concern for distortion (which is not your fault and therefore not your problem) or insert the required form fields to preserve the formatting.

    I really need to get this form filled, is there anyway that I can work around this?

    The form hasn't been designed correctly. It's not your problem. The form should use Text FormFields but it obviously isn't.
