When sorting alphanumeric data in a table, everything sorts properly except numbers that end with E.  Here's the result I get when sorting these numbers:

100E
121E
4E
4E
60E
1A
1A
2
2A
3A
3A
3B
3B

For a numeric sort, Word sees the numbers with E to be in scientific notation ( where E is the exponent following x10).  But  a text sort still may not be what you want. To get the sort order I suspect you want, put a space, hyphen, or some such between the number and the letter, and then do the number sort.
