How format the hyperlink for a column?

I remember in 2004 I would highlight the column and then go, format, style, and then hyperlink.

So then the font which is Ariel 21 for all the normal text would then match the hyperlink emails.

I'm baffled why these are not per force unified. But with 2011, I cannot even  understand how to get the hyperlinks font size changed. anyone know? thanks!

Kevs -

By default, XL applies the Hyperlink style to hyperlinks that it creates. The style in the other cells depends on what you've set it to (or Normal style, if you haven't set it).

It sounds like you've customized your Hyperlink style to display in 21 pt Verdana, while your standard font is 10 pt Verdana.

Select your column and set it to the Hyperlink style if you want. Then all entries should be 21 point.

    thanks JE!

I've looked but cannot find where to set the hyperlinks style.

I click format, style and a box comes up offering checkboxes for font, numbers, alignment... but not hyperlinks!

anyone out there? this used to be such a simple fix in 2004. Can't fathom why excel separates the font size for hyperlinks from the font size for normal text in cells.

    JE, thanks.

    Ok, I'll try again.

I have a column filled to the brim with 4000 emails.

Some are hyperlinked now, some are not.

With the ones that are not, I double click them and then shrink to verdana 10 pt. instead of Verdana 21 like all other cells on the page.

I need a way to have that column - hyperlinks and normal text to set at Verdana 21

    Hi, Kevs -

I don't have a clue what "per force unified" means, but Help has a good description of how to modify styles (the "Change and existing cell style" subtopic in the "Apply, create, or remove a cell style" topic)

    .

Start with your desired template open.

Enter a web address or email address so that the default Hyperlink style is created.

Select the cell with the Hyperlink. In the Style pane of the Format Group of the Home ribbon, the Hyperlink Style should be visible (if not, click the down arrow to display the whole pane).

CTRL- or right-click the Hyperlink style, and choose Modify. Click the Format button. In the Font pane, choose your desired font size. Click OK, then OK.

    Save your template.
