ERROR 1704 - While installing Office 2010__

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I am trying to install MOffice Professional Plus 2010 and I keep getting the 1704 error. I have restart, and still get it. I also ran my system optimizer to see if I had something in my REG that need to delete and it still gets the same thing. I had Office 2003 previous installed but uninstalled it through the program removal in Control panel. Is there something I can clean off so it will install?

The Windows installerservice on the computer might also have some issues resulting in you not being able to install Office. In such cases, Windows installer should first be fixed and then Office can be installed.

Refer the link below for information on how to repair Windows installer.

Error 1935 is typically due to a security application blocking the installation. You should disable all security applications, including antivirus etc, and then try the installation.

Error 1704 should be resolved with the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/228655
