Getting to Workbook Code Area

Anonymous

In Excel 2003, I can get to the workbook code area directly from the Excel window just by right-clicking the tiny Excel icon just to the left of File on the menu bar and picking View Code.

Is there an equally easy  way in Excel 2007?

I have been opening the VBE and going to the workbook code area from there.

The only way I have found is to change the workbooks window state from "full view" to "normal view" (so the workbook is displayed as a child window)... then the icon you are referring to will be in the upper left corner of the floating window.

That is still possible in 2007; if the window is restored and the icon visible..

There is also a View Code button that can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar.  It is not quite the same as the using the Right Click method that Rick mentions, which takes you to the Visual Basic Editor with the This Workbook code pane having focus as when you use the View Code button on the Quick Access Toolbar, it is the code pane for the sheet that was active when the button was clicked that has the focus.

Add the Visual Basic item (from the All Commands Group) to the Quick Access Toolbar.
