Losing Data When Converting Delimited Data From Text To Column

We are losing data when we try to convert delimited data from text to column. e.g., A cell has several email addresses seperated by commas. (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, etc.) When we convert the data from text to column, one or more of the email addresses gets lost. We have checked the syntaxes, etc. over and over again, and nothing seems to be any different in the email addresses that get lost during the conversion.

Thanks in advance for any ideas about this!

Thanks to all who responded to this!

Uploading the file that was giving us the problem was not an option due to the strict data security polocies within our company.

I do think that I solved it though. It seems that there were extra spaces between some of listed email addresses that were very hard to see due to the way that they were layed out in the cell. Making sure that each email address had a comma, and then only one space between it and the next email address seems to have resolved this.

Again, thanks to all who responded!

Although the suggest to upload files that demonstrate the problem to a file-sharing website is best, you can avoid having your example munged by this forum's software by changing the presentation yourself.  For example, write literally:

    user1 @ loc1.com, user2 @ loc2.org  (without spaces around @)

The phrase "without spaces around @" is part of what you would write to let us know that you had to modify the appearance.

Someday, I suspect the forum implementers will recognize and munge even that form.  So we might need to find another work-around.  I often use user1 "at" loc1.com when writing my own email address.  That is usually well-understood in the context.  But that might not be suitable for your examples, since the precise syntax might be key to understanding the problem.
