email word document is encrypted

I have Microsoft office 2007 on my pc and just bought a laptop that has the 2010 version. I've been sending an email attachment using the 2007 word and every time I open it, it is encrypted. Can you please tell me why this is happening and what I can do to stop this from happening.

    Does it happen with all the Word files you try to send or with only one file?

    What is the file format of the Word document you are trying to send?

    Try saving the file with a different name as a .docx file and then send it as an attachment and check.
