Can't increase indent

I have a document with a long, narrow table on the left hand side (roughly 2 inches wide) and text on the rest of the page (above and to the right of the table.) Text wrapping is on. I am unable to increase left text indent for the text to the right of the table. First-line and right indents work fine. I have tried using the increase indent button, formatting the paragraph and moving the indent sliders on the ruler. The only thing that allows me to increase the left indent is deleting the table. There is no problem indenting the text above the table.

Suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!

There is a known issue with indentation for text paragraphs next to wrapped objects in Word. The problem may be a little different between versions, but it is certainly there. As far as I know, there is no workaround.

It's possible that tables weren't affected by the bug in Word 2002 (I skipped that version, so I don't know).

Thanks for the reply. I don't remember having this problem when we were using Word 2002 and I can't remember if I have it with Word 2003 (at home.)
