Query's cell referenced parameter not saved

Hi, I am extracting data from MS Access into Excel 2007 using MS Query.

Using Data/Connections/Properties/Definitions/Parameters, I select "Get the value from the following cell" to plug in the parameter, but this works perfectly until I save and close the file. When the file is opened I need to link up the cell references again. How do I save the cell reference parameters so they don't have to be entered each time the file is opened? If I don't do this, excel crashes when trying to refresh the pivot chart.

Thanks in advance.

I think this could be very useful, however, I would like Excel to keep the parameter reference. In the meantime I'll try some of the ideas on the thread you mentioned.

    Thanks for your help.

Pivot tables don't get along with parameter queries. Check out this link for a workaround...

Are you sure you kept the Recorder on until you finished modifying the cells?   If so, maybe post your code and perhaps someone here can see something

I have tried that, but when I look at the VBA code, I don't see anything related to the parameters reference. Any suggestion?.

    Thanks for your answer.

You might try Recordina a Macro while you do the Query setup and while making your cell changes once the data is imported, then turning off the Recorder.  Next time you want to run that Query, just run the macro and it will do both for you.
