A family of Microsoft relational database management systems designed for ease of use.
While I cannot speak about possible newtwork or HDD problems, this may be nothing more than fragmented or unlinked files in your computer's %TEMP% directory. You need to flush out all unused files within %TEMP%.
Close all applications and press Windows key+R to get the Run dialog. Type in %TEMP% and hit <enter>. Permanently delete (e.g. Shift+Del) all of the files you can within this folder. There will likely be a few you cannot delete as Windows will be using some .TMP files for running processes.
This works better is it is done immediately after starting the computer. It works even better from a Command Prompt under Administrative privileges after booting into Safe Mode or Clean Boot.
