We are running Vista. We purchased Office 2010 online and during the installation process we get the following error message " Error 1923. Service 'Open Source Engine' (ose) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services." I have uninstalled it and re-downloaded the installer to no avail. What is wrong. Also the trail/converter of office 2007 is now gone.

Check if you have any existing installations of Office on the system.
Run the fixit for all versions of Office installed on the system, from the article:

Once you have uninstalled all the version, then try installing office 2010.
