Error Code 1714 Setup cannot remove the older version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

I just purchased the 2010 Microsoft Office Plus from the Employee purchase program and am trying to install it. I have Windows XP and the Microsoft Office Professional 2007 purchased from the same Employee purchase program. I am getting this error message about half way through the setup. I have never had Office 2010 Professional Plus on this computer? I did download it from the employee purchase site and also purchased the backup DVD. I have sine deleted the online version. What is causing the problem and how do I fixit?

Try uninstalling the earlier version of office using the fixit fromwww.support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 and then try installing office 2010 on the computer and check if it helps.
