Insert a 2x2 (borderless) table for 9-12. It will conform to the column width and will provide the flow sequence you want.

Here's a challenge!
I have a document being displayed in two columns and for a certain portion of the document, I want the right column to be split again into two columns. Here is my depiction of what I want (the numbers represent the flow of the text).
1 | 7
2 | 8
3 | 9 10
4 | 11 12
5 | 13
6 | 14
Items 9 thru 12 are pictures. Is this possible? How?
Thanks,
John

To create something like this in Word 2007,
... insert a table with three columns and 6 rows. Select the second and third column in row 1 then right-click and select Merge Cells. Repeat for rows 2, 5 and 6.
Adjust the column widths to suit. If a table is not absolutely necessary, the same can be accomplished with custom tabs.
